A new provision in the federal education law will allow military kids to be tracked and monitored.  We all know how this ends...tax money wasted.  Sure, there are problems involved when any child must move often, but that is just one of myriad problems seen in public schools. They study poverty, substance abuse, crime and there is no improvement in the schools, just more money spent per child.

i knew a lot of military kids when i was in school.... hawaii has a lot of military personnel and they are always moving in and out..... ... but i don;t remember many of the kids i knew being upset or feeling moving a lot was a problem for them...... .. most of the ones i knew said they actually felt fortunate because being a military kid meant they got to live in really awesome places all over the world..... (like hawaii.... japan.... europe etc)...... some of the kids born and raised in hawaii actually complained more.... they had what we call "rock fever".... feeling as if they were trapped on a rock ...never got to go anywhere else and couldn;t do anything about it...... .........personally i couldn;t sympathize much.... i have loved this island ever since i moved here and never wanted to leave... 133
We had 5 kids during my husband's 23 years of military service but our kids were never in public school so I can't speak personally about that part of military life. We had a military family at church for a couple of years and the kids were very friendly.  They moved to Japan and just today I saw pictures of the kids having a blast during their vacation in Bali, Indonesia. Not bad.
