I will do everything in my power to find out who is causing the denial of service attack on the old FFF.com, and I will do everything in my power to try to convince the owner to press charges against the perpetrator.

I should have initiated the same kind of mission when someone stole passwords on the old, old forum, but I chose not to.  That was a mistake I will not make again.

If anyone has any information on how to contact the owner of the old, old forum, please PM me with that information.  You may also want to accept this mission.  The more, the merrier, and the more likely the denial of service attack will be stopped and the perpetrators brought to justice.

i don;t know for certain if they are actually the owners of the site..... but i do know they are still connected to it.....  when i renewed my premium membership at the old .com fff the payment went to ezoic .... .....  i have sent 2 emails so far asking when it is going to be operational again.... and also informed them if that forum doesn;t begin working soon i will demand a refund from them.... so they should have at least some kind of incentive for seeing it operational .... .... ..but as of yet i haven;t heard anything back.......

Thank you, I will see what I can do. I have other resources, too.

Just an update: My resources turned out to be cooperative and informative, and I hope to see some imminent action on this.
DAY 3 and counting!!! Lol!!! How's it going?

See, you have a couple of problems here...

1) you assume that the new owners really care to fix the .com (laughable since it has been non functioning and inactive for over two years)

2) and if they cared, a DOS attack is stopped easily

At times, DoS attacks aren't that easy to stop. In this case, I believe the attack rendered the forum inoperable. Stopping the DoS attack doesn't fix the forum.....

Just an FYI.

You appear to need some help in understanding how this work. I'm glad we could help you. Let us know what other technical "things" you need help understanding.
Nothing new about the .com?

Isn't it kind of embarrassing to track down the owners and tell them you are concerned about it being down? I would be embarrassed for my real identity to be associated with that forum. It is not like the forum is worthy of being salvaged.
Just an update:

We are making progress on the potential DOS attack. We've discovered a lot since we started the investigation.

I can't guarantee anything, and it's not going to get fixed overnight, but I have good information and contacts, and I'll keep following up. Even if the site owner doesn't care, I've discovered another avenue of approach where it is in the best interest of the people involved to get to the bottom of this. I'll keep y'all posted.

Any news (?)

It is still broken ... sigh!

Still working on it. The bad news is that the site owner doesn't care, and the advertising manager doesn't care. But contrary to what one might think, they're not the highest links in the chain. I've just been too busy to make the phone calls necessary to appeal to the people who are most likely to be embarrassed by allowing their hosting services to be attacked. If I can't get them to act, then I will go to the legal authorities.

Thank You!

I have no idea if my work had anything to do with it coming back, but I'm glad it is back.  I posted there about this forum.
