We all want to be winners. Everyone loves a winner. Last night, the Patriots were winners. I'm not a Patriots fan but watching them last night I believe they largely handled themselves well. It made me think.....


One of the most dangerous things in this life is.... Success....


Ecc 5:12  The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. 
Ecc 5:13  There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. 

Success has ruined many people. Success makes one think they're invincible. It makes people feel superior to others. When you're successful...... "your way" is better than "God's way". 


Which is primarily one of the problems that has plagued Christianity for many years. A little success and recognition has lead to miniature "kingdoms" being established. 

Many people take "success" to mean that God approves of them......

It just doesn't work that way!!

very true..... .. and some people might even say that the atlanta falcons early success in the super bowl ruined them..... ... they were awesome for 3 quarters and had a sizeable lead... ... but then forgot at the end of the 3rd that they still had one more quarter to play... .... ....others would say that atlantas early success was a wake up call for the new england patriots who realized, just in the nick of time, they weren;t going to win this new super bowl on the merits of their past performances..... 

but then hilary clinton supporters are saying it;s not fair.....  that atlanta was the true winner and they deserved to be the super bowl champions....  they point to evidence of the big lead atlanta had after 3 quarters.... by polls taken at half time showing atlanta would win.... and also by the number of celebrities who left the game early due to their certainty that atlanta had it in the bag.... .... ...  they are now certain the russians interefered in the super bowl and influenced the final score of the game for the patriots, due to their friendship with president trump and his friendship with tom brady......   ...... .. they are requesting a recount of the score..... and a full investigation to check the accuracy of the score board... to re-check football inflation pressures.... and to carefully watch the referees for signs they might have received extra under the table income from unknown sources.... (buying new cars and accessories above their paygrade etc....)

still others.... after a post game night of rioting in the streets and getting drunk say new englands victory is nothing but evidence of how hateful racist and corrupt football in america has become.... and they are swearing to move their football fanship, support and allegiance to the canadian football league......  ... still no indication yet when they are going to do that.... ... but the cfl says their website crashed ummediately after the super bowl and has not been available since..... ...
