From a Catholic site:  The deuterocanon (ie. "second canon") is a set of seven books — Sirach, Tobit, Wisdom, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, and Baruch, as well as longer versions of Daniel and Esther — that are found in the Old Testament canon used by Catholics, but are not in the Old Testament canon used by Protestants

What is your opinion of the deuterocanon?  Should these books be in today's Bible?

This web page (link below) has a pretty long list of alleged NT references to the deuterocanon.  Many of the references have been disputed as being too vague to be actual references to the deuterocanon, but others seem to be solid references.  In addition, it is my understanding that the Septuagint which Jesus and the apostles used included the deuterocanon, which may lend credibility to even the vague references.

as someone who recently returned to my former catholic church........ officially?.... i would say yes..... the deuterocanon should be included..... ..... but .... outside the doors of my church? ....  ... and having read through those books on more than one occasion...  i am still not sure.....  i can;t say i ever saw anything in them that was a make or break point for anything else in scripture....  others say they have seen such passages..... but either way.. and after all the changes i made over the past year it is definitely something i want to learn more about..... ...... i actually know other catholics in the church i go to who have some doubts about the deuterocanon so i wouldn;t be the lone heretic if i decided not to accept them... ...   ........
