or at least that;s what they say.... hurricane flossi is projected to "become a category 5 by early next week.... and enter hawaiian waters shortly after.. ... . unless it doesn;t".... and that;s according to the "Official Forecast"....

.... but i have to remember too that we are hearing this from a local weather service who literally sent out a weather alert telling us to expect heavy rains due to sunshine a couple of years ago.........(

) ..????... . ...but nevertheless..... i spent the morning and half the afternoon helping checkout our automatic storm and nuclear blast shutter system.... and double checking all our disaster supplies to be sure we are ready for whatever.... ..

so why.... you might ask.... am i posting this in the end time events forum?.... ... coz on an island 3000 miles from the nearest mainland...

....and with no place to evacuate to should a major storm come our way....

.. a category 5 hurricane could very possibly be an end time event.... . ..and if it hits us directly and doesn;t wipe us out.... but merely causes a major power and water services outage that lasts a couple of weeks or more.... this island will become medieval in less than 3 days.....

....i guess we will see.....

well now noaa is saying hurricane flossie lost strength over night and has been downgraded to a tropical storm....

.. and while it is still projected to pass close if not directly over us... it will likely only bring heavy rainfall sometime next week.... ..probably tuesday...

... ..... ...meanwhile hurricane eric is still in the pacific southeast of the big island, and projected to continue to the west before losing strength.... it could also bring heavy rainfall should it turn to the north any time in the next 2 to 3 days.....

i just want the heavy rainfall..... tons of it..... a torrential downpour with ankle deep water in the streets.... knee deep in the gutters and a deluge of water crashing into the storm drains that washes all the feral cats in this city down the pipes and flushes them out to the ocean where awaiting tiger sharks can put them out of their half-drowned misery.. ...... ... did i ever mention this island has a feral cat problem?..... .it also has a feral cat feeder society that goes out and feeds the mangy things daily and even goes to court to advocate against any effort by the city to control or remove them..... .. meanwhile the hawaii native bird society laments the fact that all the bright and colorful...and very rare... native birds found only in hawaii have all but completely disappeared.... .....the irony is that some people are members of both societies..... ..go figure that one..... ..

well..... the storms are still out there.... and their projected paths change by the hour.... .
but at this point the people trying to predict what is going to happen can;t even be sure
we will get any rain from these storms...... much less wind.... so i guess we are still in
wait and see mode..... ...meanwhile we are getting big surf on all south... east... and
west facing shores.... . because somewhere out there the ocean is churning like crazy.... ..

so.... a couple of weeks ago another hurricane missed us.... ...it was a close shave
as they say... ...just brushing us to the north.... .. ..but there was no wind to speak
of anywhere on the island.. .. .. the average trade winds blow harder.... .... and we
didn;t even get rain out of it here on the south shore..... oh well..... ..not complaining
by any means..... though we are fairly well prepared where i live most people on this
island are not.... . and a direct hit by a major hurricane could send this island back into
the stone age.... ... at the very least it could get medieval for a while until resupply arrives..... .....

meanwhile the outer island chain to the west will have to get all of this..... .and
the monk seals, sea turtles and albatrosses will have to tell us all about it later........
