I consider aleshanee to be a good friend.  She asked me to consider joining this forum.  I hesitated, considering the reason this forum exists.  As I told her, I wanted to get a feel for the atmosphere before I joined.  And so I have dipped my toes into the water and found it fine!  Hence, my request to join...

I am especially looking forward to getting to know Deep Six.  Aleshanee has already told me so much about you, Deep Six, that I am already a fan.  LOL

As for myself, I have been a widow for close to 8 years.  I have a 22-y.o. son who has a son of his own.  Unfortunately, the mother is a "baby mama" as of yet, but I keep it in prayer that my son will marry her.  Honestly, I think God brought them together.  They live as a couple, but without the "papers".  She is an exceptional woman.  A great mom to their son and also a great foil to my son's personality.  What holds my son back is that he is "underemployed".  He can't support them without help from both families.  So I ask for prayers that God will make a way for them to make a household.

Additionally, I am on staff at my church as the finance director. I am also a Sunday School teacher.  I have a very (did I say very?) small class.  To be honest, I thought of disbanding my class, but the few members talked me out of it.  They voted to teach a lesson in turn, so my class is now a class of teachers!  It's wonderful to see the ladies in the class stretch themselves in this way!

So here I am, warts and all...

Welcome, Inf. Thanks for the brief synopsis to let us know (or refresh our memories) about you.

I'm a little late in reading and catching up on all the posts, but welcome to the forum LNF. I have heard quite a bit about you too, and look forward to getting to know you better.   

I don't spend much time on computers these days. I actually swore I would never touch one again after retirement, but.. here I am. Go figure. 

Maybe the experience will be better when I am on one because I want to be.. rather than being required to.. 

I still don't know that much about computers. All I am sure of is that my department gave them to us over a decade ago and said it would make the administrative and documentation parts of the job much easier.  

They could not have been more wrong about that. 

I take solace however, in the fact that towards the end I was not the only one longing for the return of pen and paper. 

But that ship.. as they say... has sailed.
