If a Tree falls in the woods..... - praise_yeshua - 02-18-2021 Will you consider your own mortality? Every day, our fellowmen die. Every day, most any living thing dies. Eventually, all die. This is a very REAL unescapable truth of our mortality. Yet, we ignore this fact. When humanity sees things die around them, they curse them. They mock them. They say "good riddance"..... all while ignoring their own very REAL mortality. SO. If a tree falls in the woods, will you please consider your own morality? For those in Christ Jesus. We have the wonderous words of our Savior. Our Redeemer..... Mat 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. Mat 10:30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Mat 10:31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Rom 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. RE: If a Tree falls in the woods..... - aleshanee - 02-20-2021 one of the problems with living in the sheltered... overprotected... and over regulated society that we have in current day america... is that very few people have ever been witness to someones death... .. actually been a few feet away when it happened.... or even seen a tree fall in the woods for that matter .... ...and so thoughts of their own mortality are shelved or packed away until the day they are actually and forcefully confronted with it.... i don;t count seeing trees fall that were intentionally cut down.... or people who suffered long illnesses and die with their family around them when i say that.... ..those things give people time to consider them before they happen... .and can even trick people into thinking both the end of life, and the end of trees.. are all things we as humans can control or plan for in advance... ..... i;m speaking of sudden and traumatic death... ..sudden cardiac arrest... ..or a tree that suddenly snaps from the wind or simply undetected rot from within, and crashes down... taking everyone close to it by surprise. .... . ..and not a small one either... but a really big tree everyone thought would stand there forever.. and one that could crush you and kill you instantly if it fell on you... ....i;ve never been there for that event... ...... but i have been witness to the former one.. the sudden and violent death of someone else.... ....those kinds of things are harder to brush off... mock.. or disrespect... than a death you knew was coming soon... ..or that you simply heard about after the fact and never witnessed.... ... both life and death are in the hands of God.... ....scripture teaches us our life is temporary and our death is certain.. ...mortality is what we live with every day whether we think about it or not.... ... ..... sadly most people will never consider their own mortality even when witnessing death, until it finally comes for them.... same people are likely to laugh at the sudden fall of a tree that barely misses them..... but when it lands on them and traps them under a pile of branches... ..and other people have to scramble to dig them out from under it.... then it;s not so funny.. ..and that event will be in their thoughts for the rest of their lives.... provided they survive it... .... |
