how not to hit your camera when videoing archery.... - aleshanee - 03-31-2021 i really like watching this guys videos.... ..though i think his "lockdown" longbow idea of using a crossbow to shoot traditional war arrows is a little eccentric... his testing still comes up with some pretty amazing information.. ..things i would have never thought of before..... and just for the record.... i have shot arrows at targets that had cameras mounted on them many times... (other peoples cameras)..... with a real longbow.... at distances up to 100 yards ..... and i have never once hit a camera.... but anyway.... for those who would hit one - .... ..... .... I've tried getting into archery again recently and I can't hold the draw weight like once could. Too many arm and hand issues... but I do love it. RE: how not to hit your camera when videoing archery.... - aleshanee - 04-02-2021 i was making steady progress improving my draw strength every year for a long time... ..and then suddenly peaked... couldn;t progress further... . so i just stayed where i am now pulling 60 pounds on a savanna longbow... ..which some people think is an insane draw weight for someone my size... ....they never want to believe my bow is that strong unless i hand it to them and let them try to pull it.... ....and i seldom ever agree to that... .... on a side note... .. did you know that roman plumbata he throws early in the video.... that he said he hit and destroyed his first camera with..... is what inspired the 1970s backyard game jarts?..... it was basically a set of improvised plumbatas with plastic fins you had to throw and try to make it stick into the ground within a small circle...... ....(someone who actually owned a set once, told me about that)... ..apparently the game was banned in the 1980s after a few people got skewered by the the things in their own backyards...... ... i wondered if the roman soldiers who invented plumbatas had any idea one day in the distant future it would become a backyard toy.... and that a high tech device not even imagined by science fiction yet.... and capable of capturing and recording moving images.. would be destroyed by one..... ....weird the things i think of when i wake up at 3 am.... .....
RE: how not to hit your camera when videoing archery.... - aleshanee - 10-01-2021 i guess i wasn;t the only one who saw the video about the roman plumbata and was reminded of the banned game of lawn darts.... |
