last documented use of a longbow in battle... - aleshanee - 07-30-2022 some might think the last time a longbow was used to kill an enemy combatant in battle was some time during the middle ages.... but would you be surprised to know a longbow was actually used by a british officer named mad jack churchill in world war 2?.... france.. . 1940... near dunkirk.. at the beginning of an ambush on a german patrol.. ... there is also documented proof that this same officer carried a scottish claymore into battle at least once... a photograph of a beach landing shows him going ashore with it in his hand |
