Windows XP,
Which I have heard is practically useless now for internet purposes. But there are many who believe it remains a good system for businesses, when connected to a closed network that offers limited internet access.
Since retirement my personal computer has been disconnected from that closed network, and attempts to get onto the outside internet with it have shown me just how useless it really is. I don't know whether it's the system, or simply a case of having a very slow antiquated computer at home. Or even a combination of both.
But it's one of the big reasons I'm seldom online these days, Unless it's a day like today, and I'm at somebody else's house who owns an updated computer operating on a much better system.
Having broadband apparently helps too. -

I have no need for one. If I ever have to return the company provided notebook, I might get one just to have a cheap notebook-like computer.
Also, a poll where you can make multiple selections might have been better. My company notebook runs Windows 7. My home PC runs Windows 10 and Linux.
And here's an odd twist. I have to run Windows XP in a virtual machine (Oracle VirtualBox) sometimes because we have a company application that ONLY runs on IE8 and Windows XP with an old version of Java. -

i don;t know anybody who uses it.... or even likes it...... .i;ve never used it
myself...... like rogue tomato i never saw a need to......
and besides.... according to imorten joe it;s only a short trip from shiny
and chrome ....to mediocre anyway......

It wasn't me. Maybe someone is using a chrome book, or maybe someone simply uses the Chrome browser.
Speaking of which, Chrome used to be the best browser available. It has gone downhill in the past year or two. I find myself using Firefox much more often now. Ironically, I sometimes switch from Chrome to Firefox because Youtube live game streaming videos don't buffer as often in Firefox. You'd think the same company that does both Youtube and Chrome could get their act together.
Yes, I like to watch people play games. I have a few favorite streamers. They're as funny and entertaining as the games they play. -

Rogue, you might be interested to know that last month (April 2016) Chrome replaced Internet Explorer as the world's most popular browser. IE gained the title in 1995 and had never lost it before. -

Currently, about 1/4 of the Windows users in the US are using Windows 10. We seem to be at 33.3%. -

Have you seen this mini PC? It looks fantastic. I have no idea how much it will cost, but it looks like it would be as powerful as a good desktop while only taking up a tiny amount of space.

Rogue, it looks like a powerful machine that will cost a lot extra because of its miniaturized parts, and will last a shorter time because it has less room for cooling.
