I know you probably heard this. In the OT, the "Holy Spirit" only "moved" upon people. The Spirit did not abide with anyone. However, that all supposedly changed at Pentecost.
Well, I have to ask.
Just WHY has this been taught?
First, I'll say this and I believe I can defend it rather well...
Throughout man's existence......ANYONE that has gotten "born again"..... Did so, the same way. I have a very dear friend, like most dispensationalists, that doesn't believe this. I asked him one time about Nicodemos.
Joh 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Joh 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Jesus.... very clearly implied that Nicodemus should have known exactly what Jesus told him. Exactly. THUS, it MUST have been taking place BEFORE the incarnation of Christ Jesus.
*** Rouge, I hope you're feeling better? Notice verse #12. ***
So, just how do we apply
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; ?
