  Curious as to anyone's "take" on the seamless garment that Jesus wore. 
  
  I have an opinion but I'll keep it to myself for now.
  
  The Greek source word is unique and is found only once in the entirety of the Greek holy manuscripts. Even the LXX OT. 
  
  I do agree with some that it most closely resembles a tunic.

  wasn;t aaron.... (exodus 28).... (and also the sons of levi who later served as priests in the temple).... required to wear "finely woven tunics"... or a seamless garment that could not be easily torn open?.... .... ... i don;t remember the exact verses that describe it.... but i do remember there was a very specific dress code for priests who served in the temple and at the altar...... i was taught the manner of dress all together reduced the possibility of the priest sweating while at the altar but also kept him covered in a way so he would not be exposed.... at least not accidentally....... .... no one else could enter the most holy part of the temple... and even the priest could not enter unless he was dressed according to code... ... and specifically in that seamless outer garment.....
  
  not sure how or if that adresses the op... .. but i think i remember also being taught that Jesus was showing by wearing that seamless garment, traditionally associated with the levitcal priesthood. that He was now fulfilling the position of high priest in the life of the believer... ....... there would no longer be a need to have a mortal priest born of man, to enter the temple and intercede for us.... Jesus would do that Himself... and we would be with Him having been redeemed by His blood and crucifixion.... ..... and if that is true then it could also be related to why the veil of the temple was ripped in half by God at the moment of the crucificixion..... ...from that moment forward everyone, who is washed in the blood of Christ, would be allowed to come before God.. .... even into the most sacred place without obstruction or interference.... .. and no one else but Jesus, would serve or intercede between us and God.....
  
  not sure if that sounds right or if i even wrote it right.. .....  .. but it;s 3 am and i;m sleep deprived.....  ... i;ll look at it again in the morning...
