  Pastor/Clergy appreciation day was this past Sunday... I must admit.....
  
  I have never liked these types of events. They really bother me. I have long said if they are going to have Pastor Appreciation Day..... then they should have a "Members" appreciation day. In fact.... why not reward members with a "get out of tithing" rewards card for "member's day"....
  
  Don't get me wrong. Everyone should be appreciated. I just think its silly to focus on the "pastor" at the expense of others. In fact, its troubling. 
  
  This is a true story. One of former pastors had a rule on Mother's and Father's day. That whomever won the "father" and "mother" of the year award..... could never win it again until every other father or mother won at least once.....
  
  Which was is hugely ironic that the same man didn't have any problem getting endless rewards for being a "good" pastor.

  I think...... its time that wimpy pastors got out of the ministry. If you can't serve without being rewarded and endlessly acknowledged...... then its time to give it up. I hear it all the time. Pastors are loners. Pastors are suffering..... Pastors really have it bad.....
  
  Yes.... you may have it tough.... BUT EVERYONE has it TOUGH. If you can't be there when all others are failing..... then why call yourself a "pastor"?
