  Its difficult for people to admit at times. but depression is very real in many Christian's lives. I've fought depression at various times in my life. There are many Christian leaders that don't take Depression seriously. 
  
  I'm here to say, Depression is often a silent killer.

  i agree..... the detrimental effects of depression are very under estimated by those who have never experienced it...... .. and what;s worse... for many christians who experience it..... depression has been horribly and often intentionally misunderstood and mis-idefined by those in the church..... . historically it was even misidentified as the results of sin or rebellion.... and even demon possession....... ....... that... in my opinion... has done more damage to christians suffering depression than anything else..... and has actually proved fatal for some who came to believe they had no where to go for help.. and no access to someone with a compassionate ear who understood...... ..... i believe some of these church leaders who have propigated the idea that depression... and other mental illnesses as well.... were nothing but sin or behavioral issues will answer to God one day for their indifference and for the damage they have done to other christians.......

  I have fought depression my whole life.  I'm battling it right now, though it's not as bad as it has been in the past.  I take meds (Lexapro), and they help some.   The only problem is that SSRIs like Lexapro screw with my memory, and I hate that.   I feel like I'm getting Alzheimer's.  Cymbalta was much worse for my memory.  High doses of Effexor actually helped my concentration and memory, but it raised my blood pressure so I had to stop taking it.
