The thing that gets me about government shut downs is this:
1. It gives extra vacation days to "non-critical" workers...who are customarily paid for the forced time off.
2. It costs taxpayer money to "mobilize" the closing of "non-critical" government services/agencies.
In other words, government shut downs, which should be "budget-positive", or at least "budget-neutral", are in actuality "budget-negative". That doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
