  with all the protests ... sit ins... lie ins... and school boycotts threatened by those who demand congress enact stronger gun control... ... one has to wonder... why are none of them protesting the failures of the FBI to prevent active shooter tragedies - like what happened in a florida school recently... when the FBI even admits it had all the information - as well as the justification... to take action... and to do so weeks before the gunman entered the school? .... ..... why was their well known and frequently taught mantra of see something say something not acted upon when someone actually saw, and then said something?........ was that just another feel good mantra - designed by liberals - to make school kids feel safe in the face of people wanting to harm them?.... and maybe even distract them from the fact those paid and sworn to protect them from such are either inept or powerless?
  
  
  and speaking of distractions taking the focus off of law enforcement ineptitude....... what was all that about the other day?... having school kids exit the building with their hands in the air while armor clad police officers pointed guns in their faces?.. even when investigators already knew the shooter had left the building?.... ... .....and if that;s not enough to be concerned about, then why did all that continue even after they had the shooter in custody?.... .... i have seen these kinds of things play out before on the evening news after a school shooting or other active shooter crime and heard people say.... "well...it;s better to be safe than sorry".... so why doesn;t the FBI take the "better safe than sorry" approach with the information.. or intelligence ... they often have about these shooters before hand?..... ...isn;t that what intelligence is all about?..... it;s becoming a common thing nowdays, after a mass shooting or particularly heinous crime, to find out that the FBI knew about the perpetrator before hand.... and did nothing.....
  
  not very intelligent use of intelligence on the part of the FBI in my opinion.... ....nor intelligent use of resources further terrorizing the innocent when the guilty had already fled..... but it seems in keeping with the liberal beliefs of many today that if you can;t stop the criminal or punish the guilty then take out your frustrations on the innocent and law abiding..... .....i;m waiting to see someone in congress see something and say something about that....... .

  I hear you and I agree completely. That case is close to my back yard. Considering the news reports, President Trump might have called it right that the FBI was distracted by other investigations, ignoring the obvious.
  
  I still have many questions, from many different angles. For example, I haven't seen any information on how the shooter actually got in undetected. Yes, he entered a certain stairwell. How did he do that? Was it not locked to the outside? I don't think we have been told the whole story, and not because the investigation is still in progress.
  
  But this isn't the only case that has unanswered questions. The recent church tragedy...again another governmental agency dropped the ball...
  
  Another recent case...a girl was abducted/lured? through an internet game. The perp had already been reported in a different case with no intervention.
  
  It makes me wonder if the conspiracy theorists actually have a point.

  i watched some of the coverage of the sit down meetings with president trump and the florida shooting survivors... and i was shocked at how many seem to be completely exhonerating the FBI despite it;s glaring failure to act on the information they were given.... .in fact some of them even chided trump for assigning some of the blame to the FBI....  .. but the one thing they all did in unison was blame the NRA ...and anyone who supports them...... .... refering to themselves as "children".... (first time i ever saw a 17 year old do that...).... many of them said nobody their age or even people 3 years older should be allowed to handle or own guns.... especially an AR-15.... ..
  
  having grown up in a world where teenagers were impatient to grow up and looked forward to being given rights that went along with getting older and coming of age, i was actually shocked to see and hear high schoolers in their late teens calling themselves children, and being willing to remain such well into their college years.... ... .
  
  i support the second amendment and am actually a member of the NRA myself..... (a non gun owning member).....  .. but personally i don;t see a reason for anyone to own a AR-15.....  or any assault type rifle or civiilian copy of an assault rifle of any caliber..... but that;s just my opinion and others have a different view of what the second amendment means...... nevertheless i was glad to see president trump at least willing to raise the age requirement for buying one to age 21..... ....
  
  but on the other side of that argument i also see some problems.....  ....one of the arguments given by gun control advocates for raising the age limit to purchase any gun to 21 is that why should anyone who can;t consume alcohol or in some states even smoke cigarettes until age 21 be able to buy an assault rifle at age 18?....... ..... i don;t think they realize what kind of slippery slope argument they actually making there.... ...what other rights would they like to take away from 18 year olds and deny them until age 21?. ..... .. the right to vote?.... .... ... 
  
  until just a few decades ago young people could not vote until age 21.... but that was changed when it was pointed out that 18 year olds were being drafted and sent to fight and sometimes die in vietnam ... ...and even today though there is no draft as of yet.... 18 year olds are allowed to join the military..... and fully automatic military grade assault rifles are placed in their hands.....  .. ironically they are still not allowed to consume alcohol or even smoke in states where it;s prohibited until they are 21.... even though they are risking life and limb for their country...... and sometimes the risk becomes reality and they pay the ultimate price in the course of their military service... even at the age of 18.... ... ..... allowed to die for their country.... trusted with a machine gun....trusted to kill their countries enemies with it making decisions about life or death for those other people.... .....  but not trusted to make smart personal decisions for themselves with alcohol or tobacco.... ...... 
  
  i am thinking one day somebody in congress will point all that out .....then take this trend of treating 18 to 20 year olds like children to it;s logical end and raise the age limit of everything with risk involved.... including driving a car and living on ones own... to age 21...... and if the conversations president trump had with the survivors of the shcool shooting in florida is any indication..... they will do it with the blessing of the very same people they will be taking those rights away from....... .....
