that kind of petty jealousy exists everywhere.... . in all organizations... .. and in virtually every realm of endeavor.... .... not that disturbing, and in fact it;s almost expected when we see it in the rest of the world... ..... but when we see it occurring in the church it does become more disturbing... .....because.... though some church goers resent this fact.... the church is held to a higher standard.. .... and that is the way it should be......following Christ means we are supposed to set aside things like jealousy....... and even those with no knowledge of Christ are aware of that.... .... ... but when we as christians and members of the church downplay the signifigance of jealousy and all the other negative or self centered emotions...... pretend they can;t exist in us.... or make excuses for them when they do...., what we are really saying is that for all our preaching and exhorting of others about our faith, we are no different than all the other false religions... secular organizations... or realms of endeavor in the world...... ... and that there is nothing unique about us.... ..nothing special.... ......and sadly... the rest of the world sees that long before we do..... and has nothing but contempt for us as result.....
