good question........ i never really thought about it........... but i do remember hearing one professor years ago say that nebulae only
look the way they do to us because we are looking at them from such an extreme distance..... ...... if we were closer or actually some-
where in that dust cloud they would look very different and in some cases would not even be visible at all....... .... but i don;t rmember
if he offered a theory on what caused them...... .... smoky residue from the big bang maybe?....
