Don't want to offend any animal loves that might be reading.... but
Why let alligators live?
I know God put them here. However, God also put many deadly things in our environment. Asbestos is natural. So is arsenic...... Ebola, Anthrax and others.
When it comes to living organisms, we kill Roaches, Termites, Spiders and etc.
Why be so fond of Alligators that we don't remove them from any populated areas?
I just don't know what I'd do if my 2 year old son was eaten by an alligator.... -

i am all for restoring animals to the wild that once faced extinction.... but i seriously don;t understand the fetish animal rights activists have with putting dangerous animals and predators into areas populated by humans......... and the idea some of them have that the lives of certain animals are more valuable than the lives of humans is insidious........ ... i have several friends that are animal lovers and i have heard them spew their sickening mantra of... "it bothers me more to see animals suffer than it does to see people suffer"..... so many times that i usually interrupt them now and finish it for them when i hear them start it.......
i believe that when alligators and other dangerous predators are discovered in the vicinity of populated areas they should be removed and taken to places where human do not reside.... ..... and if they have entered populated areas and harmed people or have actually killed someone then they should be destroyed...... .. and though it saddened me to see it happen... when a gorilla is dragging a little boy around by the leg and putting his life and safety in jeopardy... regardless of whoever;s fault it is that little boy fell into the enclosure....... that gorilla has to be put down as quickly and as effectively as possible and the little boy rescued... ...... tranquilizers that are slow acting and can cause brief moments of explosive violent behavior before they begin to work are not an option in a case like that.. ... ..... neither is an effort to trap and capture or otherwise subdue the gorilla...... because of his size and strength and potential to kill that child at any moment, he must be rendered instantly flaccid and incapacitated.... and unfortunately that means a bullet fired surgically and at high velocity into the base of the brain that shatters the medulla and severs the spinal cord....... -

I agree completely.
"Subduing the Earth" is more than just tilling weeds and briers. It includes controlling wild animals to the benefit of humanity.
I do believe, at times, we should protect animals from man. However, letting dangerous animals to live in close proximity to humans is just downright silly to me.
They are saying they can't keep alligators out of the waters at Disney and I say that's a lie. They just don't want to spend the money to do it. Disney doesn't have any problem laying off american workers and replacing them with outsourced foreign IT staff. They should be able to afford it now. Not to the mention the fact its entirely ridiculous how much they charge. They just don't want to keep them out. -

I know that's a lie. They can build a wall...
Alligators have basically useless hands. They can't climb. They can't dig very deep. A wall of fence will keep them out. Disney just didn't want to spend the money to do it. With all the high paying IT workers they laid off.... It would look like they'd have the money to do it... -

i agree...... if walls can be built at zoos and alligator farms to keep alligators in.... then walls can be built to keep them out....... it;s all a matter of how much work they want to do and what they are willing to spend...... but as far as the alligators already in that pond?...... ...depending on how well established they are it might be possible to completely eradicate them...... they can remove all they are able to find... which if done right will take out all those that are big enough to harm humans at this time..... .... but the little ones will always find a way to hide or get away .... and then they will grow big even faster with less competition.... at this point.... after already letting things get out of hand..... the only way they will ever be sure there are no gators at all in the lake is to built said wall.... then drain the lake and completely scour the bottom before refilling it....... . .... disney would no doubt say that is a financially ruinous proposition..... but so will future lawsuits and the loss of revenue when tourists begin going elsewhere for vacation..... -

I saw a man in our local area on the news this morning....... He claimed that a 6 foot alligator approached his young son as he played near the water in the same lake. He happened to be watched and was able to get his son in time. He said there were more than one 6 foot alligator in the area.
He reported it to the manager and the manager told him it they were local pets and they would never harm anyone. That they knew about them and were not going to do anything about them. He said he told the manager that he hoped he didn't wake up one morning and see where a young child had been killed by the managers unwillingness to do anything about them.
Disney needs to pay and PAY BIG.
They have been saying they remove alligators when they get to 3 to 4 feet. NOW, we know they lied. They considered them PETS!!!
Some people are just down right dumb. Talk about leaving a load gun laying around.... -
