  There's an 8 episode series on Netflix called "Stranger Things".  My wife and I watched all 8 episodes and loved it.  I recommend it.  All of the actors are fantastic, especially the kids.  I was never a fan of Winona Ryder, but I became one after watching Stranger Things.  She was excellent in this series. 
  
  There are a lot of clues in the series that only geeks will "get", like Dungeons and Dragons references and X-Men issue 135.  You don't need to get these clues to enjoy the series, but it made it more fun for me, since I'm familiar with those things.  If you do understand these clues, you can figure out some of what's going on early in the series.  Otherwise you kind of have to wait until the series does more obvious reveals. 
  
  The basic plot is that a young boy goes missing (this takes place in the '80s).  At the same time, a young girl who has been cruelly experimented on in order to give her special mind powers escapes, and meets up with the missing boy's friends.  The series has several sub-plots, but the two main plots surround finding the missing boy and the bad guys looking for the girl.  
  
  There will be a season 2, and I'm looking forward to it.
  
  Goof:  The girl crushes a Coke can with her mind.  I'm almost 100% sure it had a "stay-on tab" instead of a pull tab, which I don't think was available in the early '80s.  You can read a lot more goofs on the IMDB listing, mostly similar issues where they used things that weren't available in the early '80s (certain cars, flashlights, etc).

  i have never see that before..... but it sounds interesting.......i;ll have to check it out....... ...... my room mates and i are all still suffering from game of thrones withdrawal..... the olympics   relieved it briefly but that;s all over now..... ....... i love watching for movie mistakes and glitches in the tv shows..... some things like medieval battlefield archery have been portrayed wrong in the movies for so long now until most people think that;s the way it;s all supposed to be.... and even when they come out to the archery range to take lessons they have a hard time getting the wrong methods out of their head..... i was so happy seeing one of the early episodes of games of thrones where they actually did it right.... and the archer doing it even explained it right..... but then in episodes since then i noticed they have all gone back to doing it wrong again..... .... non archers say it;s because the wrong way looks more dramatic on screen and makes better television.....  ... i tell them maybe that;s true... but it makes for horrible archery.... 
  
  btw.... did you know in the chariot scenes from the 1959 version of ben-hur you can see tire tracks from the camera trucks in the sand?....... most people don;t even notice them coz they are focusing on the awesome visuals of the horses and charioteers racing at full speed..... ..(which they actually did.... there was no cg technology back then) .... but if you look you can see them in there..... kinda funny... but it still worked and made a better movie than anything with cg has ever done.....

  Yeah, I love watching for glitches, too.  I especially notice continuity errors, like when some papers are on a desk, the camera switches, and when the camera switches back, the papers are somewhere else with no reason for them to have moved.  Movies and TV shows have TONS of continuity errors.

  By the way, if you've seen Young Frankenstein (Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks), you might remember that Igor's hunchback kept switching sides. There's a funny story about that. The writers didn't write that into the script. Marty Feldman just did it on his own until Gene Wilder noticed, and then they worked that into the movie.
  
  Another bit of trivia about that movie: It was Gene Wilder's idea, and he had a hard time convincing Mel Brooks to do it, because Mel Brooks didn't like doing ANY movies that weren't based on his own ideas. But they did write the script together.
