I saw a little while back that France had outlawed all forms of corporal punishment. You can no longer, for any reason.... "spank" your children. The article detailed how France became the "50 something" nation in the world to outlaw "spanking"....
I can't help but think this is just down right silly....
But it did reminded me of Pro 20:30 The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly."
Yes. My generation of IFB numbnuts loved to quote Proverbs 20:30 as justification for Child Abuse.....
Even more sad....
These same people read this verse their entire life and never once realized it was talking prophetically about Jesus. No once. I remember the day I read this verse and realized just that. I couldn't believe how stupid I had been to believe the nonsense I heard time and time again....
Beating a child till it is "blue" doesn't cleanse "away evil".... but when Jesus was "bruised for our inequities.... It sure did cleanse away evil.
Leaving strips on the inner parts your child's belly never once "cleansed away evil"....but when Jesus was "striped" for us. It sure did.....
It truly is amazing when one can finally see what the Scriptures are trying to tell us.....
Ironically..... countless individuals have used this verse as justification for Child Abuse.... Yet, these same people committed "Child Abuse" by not teaching their children about Jesus in this verse...... -

Agreed. This verse has been twisted to justify child abuse for centuries. Scripture is ambiguous upon spanking. Some kids may benefit from it, others not. The idea you must spank is rooted in an abusive mindset. Rediculous -

"rediculous"... interesting mispelling of ridiculous...
.... kinda helps narrow down the list of fff posters you could be when you consider who else has mispelled it that way.... then compare it to the list of those who also use the made up word "alot" ....
