Just my opinion....
I'd have fired Mueller 6 months ago and I would have made it a national televised event.
I would have called a press conference with Senator Lindsey Graham and Trey Gowdy (whom I like). I would then ask them both a couple of very simple questions.
I'd ask both of them.....
Based on our constitution and the separation of powers, WHY must my branch of government that I head....... investigate me?
I'd them ask them both, WHY has the congress and Senate not taken it upon themselves to empower a "special prosecutor" under their own jurisdiction?
I would then FIRE Rosenstein and Mueller both and demand that the Senate and Congress get their own.... branch of Government to do their "dirty work"......
I would then remind them that I was President and I would take appropriate action and everything within my power to make sure they didn't succeed.
Trump is kidding himself if he believes they're not going to try and charge him with something from somewhere. It will ultimately be up the courts to decide and I would NOT help any of them at all......
Its called pleading the 5th in "Presidential terms". -

I agree,
Though I also believe he should have fired James Comey as part of his first order of business - immediately after his inaugeration,
- and then he should have fired Jeff Sessions 5 minutes after he recused himself from the investigation into Russian interference with the election.
Point being.. if you consider yourself unfit to handle the first and most important case that comes into your office, immediately after taking office - then what good are you?
Trump allowed a politicized FBI official like Comey to malinger on, and gain Democratic support for months past the date he should have been terminated. And that bit of bad timing inspired the witch hunt Robert Mueller is conducting. But the about face and rapid retreat of Jeff Sessions, and his inability to support the President on this and many other issues since, is what enabled that witch hunt.
And like has been said in political circles across many continents for at least 900 years - When a goverment conducts a witch hunt, it always finds a witch.
Irregardless of whether a witch even existed. -

i think it would be a mistake.... ....the mainstream media will go off the deep end in a way that will dominate the news for weeks..... all the democrats, even those who have said nothing so far, will clammor for trump to be impeached..... and htey will probably be joined by fence sitting republicans who never really wanted trump to be president anyway... who wanted to be president themselves..... and who still have a chip on their shoulder that he beat them in the primaries....... ...some of those republicans in the house and senate have been trying to undermine president trump ever since the election....that might be all it takes to send them into maximum overdrive in efforts to see him overthrown..... ....
and unfortunately..... due to a few promises trump made and wasn;t able to keep..... many of the single issue voters and forgotten people who came out of the woodwork to vote for him in 2016 will probably drift back into the timbers again allowing the democrats to walk away with whole enchilada in 2020.... ....all these teenaged idiots currently walking out of school to demonstrate will be registerred voters by then.... plus all the illegals places like california are trying to set up with ID cards that could potentially allow them to vote.... will be prepared and totally able to do in 2020 what democrats claimed was only a conspiracy theory in 2016...... and sadly too may republican lawmakers and most federal judges seem willing to look the other way and let them do it.......
but then again.... .. all that might happen anyway whether he fires mueller or not.... ...the news media desparately wants trump to fire him.... ..it will give them one more reason to march into the street and kick over garbage cans..... then stare into the sky and scream ...

Like you said....I do believe much of what you said will happen again regardless what decision Trump makes.
More importantly to me, I'd like to see the government function like it should. Get rid of the 60 vote closer rules that were ADDED late and let each branch of government do what is within their "limited power" to do.
