What God has given US is far more important than "what God has given me".
I hear it all the time from all areas of Christianity. The average person seeking to add validity to what they have to say, will say "I'd like to share with you what God has given me". Well. I have to say. Often all I see is someone trying to feel important. Don't get me wrong. Everyone wants to feel important. They do. Especially to God. However, I believe what I said in the beginning is true. If people will remember this, I think it will help them put important things into perspective. Often this happens when someone is reading the Bible and wants to share a "sermon" with someone. I think its important to witness the fact that what the Bible says is more true than what someone has to say about it. Often times, all you get is someone's opinion. A good thing to remember is.... what God says is more important than anything else. Its more important than what I have to say about it and its more important than what anyone has to say about it. We don't have to wonder what it says. We can go to the source and not blindly trust what's being told to us by those who "want to share what God has given them". Often I think the answer to such just might be.... "God has given that to us. Thus, leave the "me" out of it.
