i can never understand why so many people.... even a few F-16 pilots who should
know better... insist on calling the F-16 fighting falcon the viper.. .at best it reveals
a total misunderstanding of the natural world including a misunderstanding of the
falcon that the F-16 was originally named after.....
falcons are apex predators.... fierce birds of prey who fear nothing.... who kill and
also eat other birds and also animals on the ground... including reptiles ...such as
snakes..... they even kill and eat vipers...... ..so when people call the F-16 fighting
falcon a viper - they are actually paying it an insult and downgrading it to one of
the lowliest creatures on earth.....
in fact... i have cancelled subscriptions to websites that insisted on calling the F-16
a viper.... and if i was military brass i would ask every pilot who calls it that to turn
in his or her wings.....maybe then they would understand the difference between
a falcon and a viper.... ..and if not... then they have no business wearing those
wings in the first place...
