so... F-35 or AV-8 harrier?..... some marines like the harrier much better for one simple
reason.... several years ago in a multinational wargames..... 2 av-8 harriers defeated a
pair of F-15 eagles in mock aerial combat ..... ..yet the F-35 failed to defeat the F-16 in
a similar type of scenario.... ..... to be sure more testing of the F-35 is in the works....
..and pilots will learn it;s characteristics and develop tactics to make it successful.....
.... but for now the controversy continues..... ..
and... in the spirit of fairness.... since one of the videos i posted earlier was basically a
promotional advertisement for the Saab Gripen...... i figured it;s only right i post the
lockheed martin promotional ad for their F-35....
not being a pilot.... much less a fighter pilot.... i actually have no idea which of the 2 fighter
jets is superior to the other one.... ....but i have to admit i think saab has the better sales
pitch for their gripen fighter..... still, this one ain;t bad.....
towards the end of world war 2.... grumman... the same company that produced
the famous f-14 tomcat.... produced 2 of the most formidable piston engine fighters
ever built.. . ..also named for killer cats..... .. some would even say the f8f bearcat
and the f7f tigercat were more capable than the famous p-51.... .... but what they might
have been able to accomplish in actual aerial combat will remain unknown... ...because
not only did world war 2 come to an end.... . but shortly thereafter the days in the sun of
the piston engine fighter was rapidly eclipsed by the arrival of much faster jet fighters..... ..
so.... .if anyone is wondering why i seem to be spending more time on the forum lately and
posting more .... .it;s because we are back on lockdown here in honolulu... ..it seems they
just can;t figure out why the virus made a huge surge and we are seeing more active cases...
..never mind 10,000 people.. (mostly healthy young adults and some of them blm organizers from
the mainland who violated quarantine).... marched down one of our main streets 2 months ago
shouting slogans and then crammed together for a rally in a city park... .... and then pay no
attention to the fact that it takes 2 weeks for people of that age group to show positive for the
virus and become contagious..... and you will completely miss that 2 weeks after that, the people
they would have gone home from the protest to infect with their newly acquired virus...(grandma
grampa and elderly uncle roy.).. began showing positive with severe symptoms... quickly infected
others around them... and you will not know anything at all about how a single mass protest march
set off the virus surge we are currently seeing.. from 1 month after that protest to this very day.....
add all that.... (but be sure to ignore it at the same time)..... to the fact medical personnel and virus
contact tracers have all been instructed they cannot ask viral positive people whether or not they
attended a protest.... .. (coz it might be an intrusion on their 1st amendment rights of free speech.)....
........and there you have it..... .our leaders have made themselves clueless about what actually caused
this thing to resurface... blinded themselves to any possible truth... and therefor they must shut down
... micromanage... and exercise totalitarian control over everything.....
they can still ask you about whether you went to church though... .. (that other 1st amendment right)..
and churches are basically shut down at this point too.... ..but all those blm organizers who came here
from the mainland and thumbed their nose at quarantine?.. ... they were all allowed to go back home
without interference....without police or anyone else asking them a question..... ..
so .....pay no attention to those authoritarians behind the curtains.... and don;t ask them questions
about why they are doing and saying things that make no sense..... .. they are the great and powerful
wizards of democracy... .. and they know what;s best for you... ...
